SENIORS BALANCE PROGRAM
             

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, falling is the leading cause of unintentional injury at home among Americans 65 and older. 

Older people sustain such injuries by stumbling on stairs; slipping in bathtubs; falling off ladders and step stools; and tripping over garden hoses, dog leashes, and household appliance cords.

In addition to our nutritional, strengthening and cardiovascular programs, we at Team Spirit Fitness Centers have addressed this important issue by teaming up with leading physical therapists to develop a balance and proprioception program to prevent older Americans from falling.  Combined with strength training, this program has been shown to greatly improve balance, awareness and coordination through simple, effective and fun exercises that are done under the supervision of a Team Spirit staff member.
